Texas Rapper, Woody Mane proves to be a Contender in the world of Hip-Hop
David Austin (March 17, 1984) better known by his stage name, Woody Mane is an independent rapper born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, signed to Oneof1 Management Company. Woody Mane will mark his territory with his forthcoming EP titled, "Ghost 2.5."
Strongly influenced by his surroundings while growing up in the gang-ridden neighborhood of Eastwood in Fort Worth, Woody Mane quickly realized his passion for music early. Woody began using it as an outlet to express things he would see in his day to day environment.
Greatly inspired by musical acts like Tupac, Lil Wayne and Chamillionaire, Mane’s biggest motivation to pursue a music career came following the untimely death of his biggest supporter and eldest brother, Derrick Austin in 2008.
The loss was a pivotal moment for the rising star, as it motivated him to go harder with his pursuit of music and begin performing throughout the DFW metroplex. He quickly amassed a core following, which resulted in him being featured on Texas legend, Lil Keke's 2014 hit, 'Subtract Da Top’ off his "Money Don't Sleep" album. Since then he has gone on to collaborate with other notable Texas rappers such as Tum Tum, Solo Lucci, and Jaio.
In 2015, Mane dropped his highly anticipated debut project, Codeine Fiend, which received a warm reception by fans with popular tracks ‘Regulate’ and ‘Masked Murderer.’ He then followed up its success with the release of his second project, Black Ghost in 2016 which earned him the attention of mega music executive, Debra Antney. Woody Mane’s third project, Ghost dropped April 19, 2017, and is still doing numbers.
WM's latest compilation, GHOST 2.5 is set to be released soon! Make sure to follow him to stay in tune with updates.
